20th June 2008.
A day of Artsy Futsy fun. After 3 days of wait just to spend a day together, we decided to go to a museum. Well…it was my idea actually. Unwillingly she agreed, just to make me happy. I just wanted to go because I get to visit the Museums for free! ;D NUS bought unlimited entries for the Students to a few of the Museums in Singapore till end of April 2009. Wonderful isn’t it!So we met up and visited the nearest museum to Raffles Place SMRT station right after the Muslims’ Sabbath (Most of you would know it better as Muslim Friday Prayers. *ZIPS*).
Well anyway, we paid a visit to the Asian Civilisations Musuem. It looks great on the net and seems to have a lot of things to see inside. We started off with the Austronesian (South East Asian) history, moved up to Chinese, then to the Western Asia and finally ended with Indian Subcontinent. Somehow the cultures of Austronesian’s were presented to be adaptations of Indians and Arabs and nothing much were their own origins. I was hoping to see the native Animism and evidences to prove of their native culture before seeing the presentations of adapted Indian culture and lifestyle but I was disappointed in this section.
However, my attention was caught when we entered the Western Asia gallery. I was simply captivated by Islamic Science. The study of anatomy without dissecting anybody, encyclopedia of medicine, ancient “computers”. It is really amazing. The Muslims in the early days were smart and they have gadgets to tell time at night by looking at the star alignments when the sundial doesn’t work! They made compasses to tell the Qiblah and studied the creatures that dwell on earth.
As my interest for knowledge grew, we moved on to the Indian gallery. Honestly, the moment we entered that gallery, we felt peace and calm. Even though they have all kinds of idols there that looked so real. I felt that the South East Asian gallery was rather creepy. So now we learn about the Educators of South East Asians. The Indians are another group of smart ones and they definitely know how to have fun. They made so many board games to kill their time with! And we tried a couple of games as well.
Well that was about it at the museum. We went to have a quick dinner and set off to the Drama Centre to catch “Temple”. I’ve been dieing to catch a theatrical act for a damn long time. Finally I did.
Well all in all the performance was quite good though I felt that the story line was rather messy. The comic relief by the Husband and Wife was the light of the show if you asked me. A Malay husband and a Chinese wife that could only speak their own native tongue living together and can’t stand each other.
**Siti’s favourite line for the day, “Babi Gemok! Oink! Oink! Kentot! Kentot!”**
Well enjoyed myself though I went home shagged. There are too many pictures to upload and post hear. If you are interested in the things we saw at the museum, you could check my gallery in a couple of days after I upload them up. =x

It seems like you had fun. Good to know that you finally had time to go out with Ira. Now I feel like going to the museum myself.

Lol Shehnaz. I don’t think they’ll notice.
Since we are suppose to return our matric cards within 2 weeks upon expiry.
My best guess is he can definitely get away with it.
